Yet another tepid session

The Sensex is quoting at 17,110, higher by 12 points, and the Nifty is at 5,119, up three points.

The markets have continued to trade sideways in the past one hour. The Sensex is up 28 points at 17,127 and Nifty has added eight points at 5,124. The mid-cap and small-cap indices are also trading flat at 6737 and 8535 respectively.

Sun Pharma has gained 1.7% at Rs 1,671, Bharti Airtel has added 1.5% to Rs 292 and Sterlite is up 1.2% at Rs 813.

In the power space, NTPC and Tata Power have added around a per cent each at Rs 202.5 and Rs 1354 respectively.

And in the IT space, TCS and Infosys have gained about a per cent each at Rs 789 and Rs 2679 respectively.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever has shed 2.2% at Rs 233, Hero Honda has slipped 1.4% to Rs 1,907 and Hindalco has dropped 1.1% to Rs 160.

The BSE market breadth is neutral. Out of 2,660 stocks traded, 1,302 have advanced while 1,266 have declined.
