Press Trust of India / Chennai Nov 25, 2009, 14:18 IST

TVS Motor Co today launched, what it claimed as the first gearless motorcycle in India-- Jive-- priced at Rs 41,000 (ex-showroom). The company also introduced a new 110 cc gearless scooterette, Wego, priced at Rs 42,500. He said that while Jive will be available in the market across the country by December, the scooterette Wego will come by February 2010. "We have applied for patent for the gearless bike," Srinivasan said, adding the gearbox is sourced from the company's Indonesia plant while the engine is produced at TVS' Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.

Flame is already proved as a Flop Bike . The bike is having many disadvantages like 1)It gives a mileage of 40 to 45 kmpl max. in Hyd City roads 2)There is a problem in Self Start and it will never start easily when the vehicle is in rest position for more than 2 hours. 3)Look Wise it is average and not awesome. 4)Performance wise it is not ahead of 125cc brands available in the Market. 5)Coming to Maintenance, TVS Spares very expensive. Customers will never look at whether it is a made of single spark/ twin spark technology. They mainly look at the mileage , performance and reliability (longevity of the bike's Engine). Twin Spark and 3 valve technology will never increase the mileage and will only enhances the combustion process. Most of the customers of Flame are not at all happy with their decision. A hit product never needs publicity. Why TVS is again hurrying about a Flop Bike.
