Gurgaon-based low-cost carrier SpiceJet has a strong new promoter in Kalanithi Maran but its recent annual general meeting (AGM) suggests that it still lacks serious stakeholders. The AGM, the first since Maran acquired a significant stake in the airline, finished in five minutes flat. Asked why, shareholders said they’d only attended to collect a Rs 250 discount coupon for Haldiram’s. “I have no idea about the resolutions or agenda of this meeting. I only came to collect the Haldiram’s coupon and I left as soon as I got it,” one of them said.
