Select commodities decline on sluggish demand

Select commodities prices drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on sluggish demand at existing higher levels.

Besides, adequate supplies in the market was an additional factor.

Marketmen said fall in demand at prevailing levels amid adequate stocks position mainly dragged down the select pulses prices.

Moong and its dal chilka local slipped by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,100-5,500 and Rs 6,000-6,400 per quintal.

Kabli gram small also lost Rs 100 to Rs 4,200-5,400 and masoor small and bold by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,250-3,450 and Rs 3,450-3,700 per quintal. Masoor dal local and best quality drifted by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,000 and Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Urad 5,300-5,850, Urad chilka (local) 5,800-6,200, best 6,700-7,000, Dhoya 6,800-6,900, Moong 5,100-5,500, Dal moong chilka local 6,000-6,400, Moong Dhoya local 6,400-6,600 and best quality 6,800-7,000

Masoor small 3,250-3,450, bold 3,450-3,700, Dal Masoor local 3,900-4,000, best quality 4,200-4,500, Malka local 4,000-4,050, best 4,150-4,250, Moth 5,150-5,450, Arhar 3,900-4,000, dal arhar dara 4,900-5,300

Gram 2,250-2,275, gram dal (local) 2,500-2,525, best quality 2,625-2,725, besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,050, Rajdhani 1,050, Rajmah chitra Pune 3,400-4,000, China 3,500- 4,000, red 3,400-3,500

kabli gram small 4,200-5,400, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,500-4,900, lobia 3,700-3,800, peas white 1,950- 2,050 and green 2,150-2,350
