A range of modifications in Phase-A of the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for the North-East, which aims to provide road linkage to Sittwe in Myanmar, was approved by the Cabinet on Thursday.
The modifications include an alternative highway route between Siliguri and Gangtok in place of the approved proposal of upgrading an 80-km stretch from Sevoke to Ranipul to a two-lane one under Phase-A.
