Munjal family aims big for housing business
Shishir Prashant / New Delhi/ Dehradun Feb 20, 2010, 00:41 IST

Has invested Rs 150-200 crore in the sector so far.

After the success of the manufacturing facility for motorcycles in the state, the group promoted by the Munjal family is now ready to launch its plans in the housing sector in a big way.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will visit Haridwar on Sunday to participate in the ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the Munjal family’s housing project in the holy city.

The company has invested Rs 150-200 crore in the housing sector.

Arrow Infra Ltd, a real estate business arm of the Hero group, is constructing nearly 2,100 housing units in Haridwar on 50 acres of land. Billed as ‘Haridwar Greens’, the company is hoping to create a new segment for itself in the city where Hero Honda group had already scripted the success story of motorbikes. On February 21, the chief minister would be the chief guest for the formal launch of the housing project.

Arrow Infra has constructed 2-3-4 bedroom flats, villas and penthouses in Haridwar which has now attained the new look of an industrial hub where India’s top-notch companies like M&M and HUL had set shops. Scores of others are ready to start production in the next one or two months.

The company is targeting all the people related to industries, NRIs and all others who dream to have a house near the Ganges. Schools, hospitals and other infrastructure facilities are being provided in the area.

The company sources here said the Arrow group would soon launch few more housing projects in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and other states.
