Funskool eyes Rs 80 cr turnover
Press Trust of India / Mumbai Sep 03, 2010, 10:32 IST

Leading toy manufacturer Funskool, a part of the MRF group, is upbeat on the Indian toy story and plans a slew of launches over the next two-months, a top company official said.

With the Indian toy industry presently growing at 10-15 per cent and expected to maintain this pace going forward, the company is eyeing an around 30 per cent growth this year.

"The prospects for the toy industry is quite good and for Funskool as well. Our growth has been very good. We expect around 28-30 per cent growth in both top-line and bottomline this year," Funskool India's Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) R Jeswant told PTI here.

The company's turnover in the last fiscal stood at Rs 60-crore and expects its revenue to touch Rs 80-crore this fiscal, Jeswant said.

Being a dominant player with around 30-40 per cent market share of the Rs 1,500-crore toy industry, Funskool is also looking at expanding its capacity and increasing its visibility globally. The company currently sells its products in 4,000 retail points.

The Chennai-based company has one manufacturing unit each in Goa and Ranipet (Tamil Nadu) and is planning more units, Jeswant said, without divulging further details.
