7Seas Technologies Limited, an intellectual property (IP)-based game development company, is planning to launch three 3D games on the mobile platform – each with an investment of Rs 45 lakh – in the 2010 calendar.
The $2-million (approximately Rs 9.6 crore) Hyderabad-based company, which has over 300 IP-based games across online, casual, PC and mobile genres, will roll out an action and arcade game each in the first quarter of 2010 and one celebrity-based racing game by the end of December.
“With the penetration of high-end mobile handsets that support 3D mobile games, our focus going forward will be on the latter,” L Maruti Sanker, managing director of 7Seas Technologies, told mediapersons on Monday. The three games would be funded through internal accruals.
The company today launched Kraze, which it claims to be the country’s first multi-genre 3D PC racing game, in the Indian market.
Developed for the masses market with an investment of Rs 2 crore involving 25 game designers, programmers, quality assurance engineers and concept writers for two years, the game has an array of 12 powerful cars. It offers a gamer to play in various racing modes such as off-road, rally, Formula One and street race.
“We have tied up with city-based Comprint for publishing and distributing Kraze in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 199, the game will be available at Comprint’s network of 275 retail chains stores across the country, including Landmark, Odyssey, Music World, Planet M, Crossword, Central and Big Bazaar,” Sanker said, adding UK-based game publisher Candella Systems would distribute Kraze in the rest of the world from 2010.
